![]() Saluting the 101st Airborne Easy Company Monday, May 26th, 2014 at 10 a.m. This year we're expecting thousands of people for our Memorial Day service at Loma Vista Memorial Park. Set up takes a full week, with nearly 500 volunteers ironing and putting up over 3800 flags, and crosses. In addition, grave markers are swept, and crosses are painted and repaired. The event started in 1939, when Fullerton’s Chapman family placed 50 flags and crosses on veterans’ graves. Please join us for this day of remembrance. 2014 marks our 100th year of service and we are celebrating with some very special events. Firstly we are working on an addition to our very popular Holly Oak Lane area and will be posting updates and photos about that work. Holly Oak Lane is a very historic and lovely part of our park, soon to be even nicer with the addition of some landscaping features. We are also considering hosting some Summertime music soirees in our mausoleum, that is still in the planning phase. Thirdly, we are very excited about the long-awaited completion of the breathtaking stained glass window ceiling in our main building. We're putting together photos and more info about that to share with you too, so please check back soon!
Here at Loma Vista Memorial Park we are always mindful about caring for our precious natural resources. In keeping with that mission we will soon be completing the surface level aeration of our lawns. This will allow us to keep our greens beautiful while using much less water. More details are coming soon!
